Why “Capricious Conniptions”?

Why, you may (or may not) ask, have I dubbed my naked little nestling of a blog the odd yet esoteric “Capricious Conniptions”?

  • Because it’s alliterative, which strongly appeals to my inner poet.
  • Because these are great English words, underused and under appreciated. See how they simply trip off the tip of your tongue, like a lovely little prepubescent eastern block gymnast springing off the balance beam?
  • Because it sounds silly, which strongly appeals to my inner absurdist.
  • And finally, because “conniption” sounds oh, so much more erudite and refined than “rant”, of which I plan to post a few.

Thanks for reading!

of course, there are the ever popular conniptions of song – “i’ve got a lovely bunch of conniptions” and “yes, we have no conniptions”, just to name two.

Why am I suddenly craving coconuts and bananas?

(Hey auntie… it’s kinda creepy that our Recent Comments pictures are ghostly white figures with no faces. Any way we can add pictures?)

Why, yes,Kerouac, you are correct. It’s a lovely summer day, so we have no conniptions today!

In order to add an avatar to your posts you will need to register for WordPress, then upload a (tiny – 126 x 126 pixels) image, much like you did for Gather.

Hello, Auntie! I’m all settled in (kinda) to the new place and liking the job very much. I’m starting a blog here, too, so I can share (and make up) stuff that happens at Fish in a Barrel Pond. Eugene has tagged along so it ought to be interesting!

Now all I have to do is find the time to write! In the meantime, it sure is nice to see you and other familiar personas flitting about!
